Health Benefits Of Ginger Tea

Most people nowadays drink green tea instead of coffee, which is great, but our suggestion is
definitely more useful. We recommend ginger tea.
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a flowering plant whose rhizome, ginger root or simply ginger, is widely used as a spice or a folk medicine.

It is a herbaceous perennial which grows annual stems about a meter tall bearing narrow green leaves and yellow flowers. Ginger is in the family Zingiberaceae, to which also belong turmeric (Curcuma longa), cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum), and galangal. Ginger originated in the tropical rainforest in Southern Asia. Although ginger no longer grows wild, it is thought to have originated on the Indian subcontinent because the ginger plants grown in India show the largest amount of genetic variation. Ginger was exported to Europe via India in the first century AD as a result of the lucrative spice trade and was used extensively by the Romans.

Preparation: Peel the ginger and slice thinly to maximize the surface area. This will help you make a very flavorful ginger tea. Boil the ginger in water for at least 10 minutes. For a stronger and tangier tea, allow to boil for 20 minutes or more, and use more slices of ginger. You really can't over do it, so feel free to add as much ginger and simmer it for as long as you want. Remove from heat and add lime juice and honey (or agave nectar) to taste. The secret to making a really flavorful ginger tea is to use plenty of ginger - more than you think you will need - and also to add a bit of lime juice and honey to your ginger tea. You will also probably want to add more honey than you think you will need as well.
